About the Artist
Lauren Santos is an El Paso, TX based artist who is the designer behind When Beauty Met Truth. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in History with a minor in Art History from the University of Texas at El Paso, where she graduated Cum Laude. She is a self taught artist who has always had a love for drawing and creating. She opened her Etsy shop in April of 2015, where she began selling her watercolor paintings, hand lettered sayings, and prints.
The name of her shop comes from St. John Paul the Great's "Letter to Artists". In it he writes, "The 'beautiful' was thus wedded to the 'true', so that through art too souls might be lifted up from the world of the senses to the eternal." She was really struck by this idea that art is the meeting of Beauty and Truth. But more than that, it's ultimate goal is to point to God, the giver of all artistic talent.
When she's not creating, she can be found reading a good book, daydreaming of future travels around Europe, or binge watching a BBC miniseries while sipping a cup of tea.
When Beauty Met Truth is under the patronage of St. John Paul II, St. Padre Pio, St. Joseph and Our Blessed Mother (under the titles of Our Lady of Good Success and the Virgin of Guadalupe). JMJ +++
